300. According to Alberta Women's Health Foundation that's the average number of Alberta women who are sent home from the emergency department each year only to be later readmitted with a heart attack. Heart attacks now kill more women than men in Canada.

Closing gaps in women's health begins with a commitment to research. That's why, on International Women's Day 2021, we announced our support as a launch partner of the new Alberta Women's Health Foundation.

The Alberta Women's Health Foundation supports more than 140 researchers at the Women and Children's Health Research Institute and creates an impact on women's health equity across the province.

We continue to support the foundation to bring awareness on research from the lab to health care setting cross the province. In 2022, we came on board as a campaign partner for their International Women's Day campaign and helped promote their video that focused on #BreakingtheBias and #RefocusingTheResearch. The campaign's goal focused on improving health outcomes for women and girls while challenging Albertans to shift their attention, money and energy from women's appearances to women's health.
