Removing financial barriers to education
Increased access to education has proven to positively influence health outcomes. Our scholarship program was Alberta Blue Cross’s® first non-employee-driven community impact program. It was established with the initial endowment and formation of our foundation (the ABC Benefits Corporation Foundation) in 1998. We know that supporting education improves the wellness of our communities. And we’re proud to support all our scholarship recipients through their educational journeys and beyond.
Supporting more than 70 scholarships, each year, our scholarships range from $750 to $1,500. They’re awarded to full-time students based on academic achievement and financial need.
All the awards are administered directly through the accredited post-secondary institutions posted below. If you are a student looking to apply for any of these awards, please contact the post-secondary institution you are attending directly.
Scholarships for Indigenous students
Beyond offering scholarships at six Indigenous post-secondary institutions across Alberta, Alberta Blue Cross® also awards six annual scholarships to Indigenous students across the province. Learn more about our Indigenous Scholarship Program.
With your support, it helps so many students with disabilities to be able to graduate. Without your help, it will make it harder for us to be able to afford equipment for our disabilities and tuition at the same time. I plan to graduate and be able to help out as many individuals with disabilities to be able to find ways to be more independent.”Brittney Trimming, occupational and physical therapist assistant
